A SAW WITH "PULL" -- A revolution in sawing is underway with new saws that cut faster and more accurately but on the pull stroke rather than pushing required by traditional saws. Producers, such as Vaughan & Bushnell, report that the new thinner, sharper saws provide lightning fast, accurate cuts in a whole range of materials from logs and framing lumber to fine finished woodwork. Because of its super thin, razor sharp blade, the Vaughan Bear Saw® cuts faster and easier, takes out less material and leaves a fine finished, accurate edge.

NEW PULL STROKE SAWS - ON CUTTING EDGE

Bear Saws HEBRON, IL - Going on the ergonomic principle that it is easier to pull than to push, a new breed of saws being introduced on the market are not only less tiring to use, but also are quicker, more accurate and leave a better finished job.

According to Vaughan & Bushnell, a leading producer, these new "easier-to-pull-than-to-push" saws are revolutionizing the way we saw. Instead of the traditional push stroke these new pull saws require only a gentle pull to easily slice through a whole range of materials from logs and framing lumber to fine finished woodwork.

Vaughan, which recently introduced its Bear Saws® line of pull saws says the new saws not only are replacing the traditional push saw but also are cutting into power saw usage because they are more accurate, easier to control, safer and require no setup.

According to Vaughan here are some of the reasons the new pull saws are "making the cut" with both professionals and do-it-yourselfers:

(NOTE TO EDITOR: Vaughan Bear Saws®, available at hardware, home centers and building supply stores nationwide, retail from $18 to $26 depending on model)

"FEEL GOOD" TOOLS CHOICE OF PRACTICAL WOMEN GARDENERS

Feel Good Tools for Women Gardeners WALNUT RIDGE, AR -- Recognizing the clout of women, who make up 75 per cent of the gardening population, manufacturers are closely listening to female gardeners before they march new garden products to market.

V & B Manufacturing Company, which recently introduced a set of three small garden landscaping tools, says its major input before the tools were introduced, was from woman gardening clubs followed by later field tests by other woman gardeners.

Here are some of the criteria a women's garden club in Arkansas put forth for the ideal garden tool in the order of their importance:

In later field tests* of the tools, woman gardeners cited both lightweight and versatility as top tool features they liked followed by performance, adaptability and ability to do multiple tasks. Seniors and gardeners with limited mobility have expressed similar tool choices. The American Horticultural Therapy Association (AHTA) has cited the "lightweight and interchangeability" of these tools as "positives for those with mobility impairments."

According to one tool producer, V & B Manufacturing Company, here are some tool features stipulated by today's savvy, senior gardeners:

V & B states that new tools meeting these requirements are empowering senior gardeners, allowing them to accomplish jobs that formerly required heavier tools and permitting them to garden longer in both hours and years.
